5/5/10

Happy Cinco de Mayo! I dropped the Press Start, no particular reason, but since this is basically a gaming diary, I’ll just post the date. MY BOOK! I’m told that MacMillan is to give an answer regarding my debut book, Vlad the 5th Grader by the end of the week or the beginning of next. I’ve been giving it a re-read to my kids and wife, and so far, they’re big fans. I feel very strongly about the rewrite. Fingers crossed!

Henry has switched to some old favorites: Munchables, Mario Baseball and Wario Shake It. He also got me to hook up the steering wheel for some Burnout Paradise.

Maggie is back to Club Penguin but still guiding the Chocolate family (no reason except that she likes Chocolate) in their daily struggles in Sims 3.

Linda hasn’t been gaming lately, between work and television, who has the time?

Me. I’m still putting the iPad through it’s paces. Need For Speed Shift is surprisingly fun using a steering wheel sized monitor to steer with. I also found that iPhone version of Rogue, an old favorite and I was killed by a Kestrel right away – that means something to fans of the original version. Brothers in Arms 2 is awesome!  I also bought a zombie thriller for the PC that I’d never heard of. Necrovision and its sequel are decent shooters featuring zombies in a WWI setting. Let me repeat the key points -

Zombie

Shooter

WWI Setting

Sells itself, doesn’t it?

  1. One of the COD games has a section where you can shoot nazi zombies. Although, It’s really creepy, and the zombies can crawl around without their legs, so you might not want to play it with Henry around the first time. But of course, you’re gamerdad, so you should be the one handing down the game ratings. :-)
    Later! B-)
