Boxer the Unboxer “Unboxes” Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Collector’s Edition!

Hi, I’m Boxer the Unboxer! Arf! I’m a puppy sock puppet, and I love video games! Last time, I ‘unboxed’ the Little Big Planet 2 Collector’s Edition. This time, I’m ‘unboxing’ the collector’s edition of Marvel vs. Capcom 3! Click to check and see what all you get!

First of all, the game comes in a nice metal case with artwork all around. Here’s the front artwork:

And here’s what’s on the back:

And here’s what’s on the inside, sans the instruction booklet and game:

The collector’s edition also comes with a little comic book. But I don’t know why they need a story for these games. I always thought the story was “Once upon a time, some Marvel heroes and Capcom characters decided to get together and beat each other up! The end.” But most of the comic book is like a miniature artwork book, with lots of official and even fan art. Which is good, since I’m just a dog and can’t read anyway!

One thing to note is the back of the comic book has a code to redeem the first of the DLC characters. One is Jill Sandwich, er, I mean, Jill Valentine from Resident Evil, and the other is some octopus guy that I don’t know. But you can’t enter the code onto your Xbox 360 to get the characters, you have to go to a Web site and sign up for Capcom Unity and THEN they’ll e-mail you the code…on March 15! Yuck! There’s also a code to get a free month of Marvel digital comics, but I probably won’t do anything with that since I’m just a dog and can’t read. And Cary really doesn’t get into comic books much anyway.

Since Cary pre-ordered the collector’s edition from Capcom themselves, he also got this really neat T-shirt. I think it’s a bit too big for me, though. It has that octopus guy, but take a closer look and you can see he’s got little Servebots in his tentacles! Cary loves Servebots. The shirt is 100 percent cotton, so if you put it in the laundry, make sure to wash it on cold and hang it out to dry!

Well, that’s all you get in the collector’s edition! Now I can’t wait to play it! I think I’m going to pick the Okami dog! In a couple of days, Cary himself will probably have a blog or two about the characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 3! Later!

  2. question is there any way you could take a picture of the front and back of the comic book nice and clear, ive got some pretty bad vision i just wanna check everything out, cuz online they arent really giving any detail and i found this site which has a better visual on everything for me.

if you could do that for me that would be great, please and thank you 😀

  3. Capcom’s love for Shumagorath never ceases to baffle me. Thanks for the unboxing!
