Jeff Bogumil

Position: Contributing Editor/Webmaster/Site CMS Developer

Age: 35

First Game: Pong, on some generic Pong TV system. (Other than Pong, it was likely Combat on the Atari 2600.)

Fave Game: A tough one - I’d have to go with Space Harrier for the Sega Master System. It’s definitely dated, but there’s lots of nostalgic value there.

Favorite Kid Flick: A tie between Disney’s The Rescuers Down Under and WB’s The Iron Giant.

Kids: Tiffany (Age 17, going on 21) and Raistlin (Age 10).

Writing Credits: GamerDad.com, KidGamers.org. I’m also an author/maintainer of various video game related FAQs (Sega Master System, Super GameBoy, etc).

Oh, and pages upon pages of web application code for GamerDad. :-)

Hobbies: Other than video games? There’s science fiction and fantasy (Star Trek, Terminator and Dragonlance especially), comics, related movies and animation, and Transformers toy collecting (y’know, Robots in Disguise and all that). I also enjoy writing, reading, tennis, biking, fishing, tossing the football with the kids, teaching the kids how to catch the football…

Profession: Web Application Developer

About: “Jeff Bogumil was the primary motivator and instigator and enabler and coder of the brand new GamerDad. He’s also our webmaster. We owe him the world.” - GamerDad

I enjoy nearly every facet of video gaming: the history, the collecting, the playing.

Started with a buddy’s Pong system (thing didn’t have wired controllers or joysticks - we had to huddle over the base unit), then talked the parents into a 2600 (actually, Dad talked himself into it after playing Combat at a friends). I’ve been hooked ever since.

With my own fatherhood came new priorities and the balancing act of family life and gaming. Thankfully, the entire clan is keen on the likes of Mario, Sonic, Zelda, etc, with the family entertainment center doubling as the tri-state area’s largest video game system museum.
